Major Attractions

Energy Ball
The Energy Ball exhibit is a standalone exhibit, standing tall since 1992 and has welcomed millions of visitors.

The balls are lifted from the ground floor up to a height of 13 metres and are allowed to roll down. The balls chose different paths through systematic and random gates. During the downward journey the balls negotiate several geometric curves such as sine, ellipse, cycloid, parabola, involute and spiral. They also operate on organ pipe, a xylophone, a pendulum, a trolley and a number of wheels. The exhibit is based on the concept of transformation of one to the other.
Kugel Fountain
Kugal Fountain is annew outdoor exhibit installed at National Science Centre, Delhi. Its about 1200 Kg granite ball spinning on water. So you can enjoy the new exhibit and also enrich your knowledge on how a giant 1200 kg stone ball can be rotated with a finger.
If you are very fond of “selfie”, then here is an opportunity for you to look for a new Selfie POINT at NSC Delhi!!
Science on Sphere
Science On a Sphere(SOS) is a room sized global display system that uses computers and video projectors to display planetary data onto a six foot diameter sphere, analogous to a giant animated globe. It is s an educational tool to help illustrate Earth System science to people of all ages. Animated images of atmospheric storms, climate change, and ocean temperature can be shown on the sphere, which is used to explain what are sometimes complex environmental processes, in a way that is simultaneously intuitive and captivating.
3 D Film Show
The Centre has one of its kind the state-of-the-art facility . The visitors to the 3D Science Show will experience an out of the world immersive experience in which the near realistic visuals will appear to come out from the static screen right in front of their eyes. The 3D films are seen through specially designed circular polarized glasses. The contents of the film are regularly changed so as the visitor gets a variety after certain duration.
Aquarium
An aquarium is a vivarium of any size having at least one transparent side in which aquatic plants or animals are kept and displayed. Two types of aquarium are housed at the Centre, one is freshwater aquarium and another marine water aquarium. There is major difference in the salinity of these two types of aquarium, hence the aquatic life in them.

Many colourfulvarieties of fishes, sponges, anemones, crabs sucker mouth etc swim around in these aquariums. It’s an opportunity for everyone to know the life science of the aquatic life and apprise oneself that with important equipment, like hydrometer, protein skimmer, lights, air filters etc one may maintain an aquarium at home.
Biotech Lab
In order to keep pace with the genomic revolution and advances in the life sciences, the Biotech Lab developed at the Centre offers inquiry-based laboratory investigations as well as hands-on activities. The Lab is equipped with cutting edge equipment and innovative tools to conduct fascinating experiments from basic genetics and cell biology to modern DNA analysis.

One needs to be a member of the Biotech Lab in order to avail the facility. At present the facility is open only for school students.
Innovation Space
The Innovation hub has been equipped with components namely, Hall of Fame with stories of Inventions and Inventors, Innovation Resource Centre with online access to innovation-centric resources, Innovative Laboratory to carry out activities, experiments and projects. It provides a unique opportunity for children of various age groups to work at the facility during the week-ends to develop their ideas on various aspects of Science & Technology. A part of the Innovation Space also conducts activities on robotics and its coding. In this facility students learn application of Robots, basic of movement, controlling of direction, PCB assembly of robot, programming on computer and fusing program on microcontroller chip.

One needs to be a member of the Innovation Space in order to avail the facility. At present the facility is open only for school students.
Holoshow
A short film of about 15 minutes duration titled ‘Our Body Systems’ has been developed for screening in holographic theatre. All eleven body systems are covered in this film from integumentary to reproductive. The film explores how these systems work together as a complementary unit to ensure the smooth functioning of the entire body. The objective of this film is to educate the public about inner workings of human body. It is also hoped that it will motivate our young visitors to learn more about the science of anatomy and physiology.

This is a specially created film with 3D digital models and animations can be viewed in this theatre without the aid of any special goggles
Fantasy Ride

The motion simulator is a mechanism that creates the feelings of being in a real motion environment. In a simulator, the movement is synchronised with a visual display of the outside world (OTW) scene. This Motion simulator can provide movement in all of the six degrees of freedom (rotational and linear) that can be experienced by the visitor who is free to move, like an aircraft or spacecraft. These are the three rotational degrees of freedom (roll, pitch, yaw) and three translational or linear degrees of freedom (surge, heave, sway).
The capacity of this facility is 14 seats.
