NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE, DELHI

Project Consultancy

The Centre may extend  consultancy services in designing and developing science exhibits and thematic galleries.

PRODUCTS:-

1. Science centre
Science centres comprises interactive and thematic galleries, exhibits, equipped with infrastructural facilities, beautifully decorated garden with park exhibits, aquariums, visitors’ guide, library, 3D Theatre, auditorium etc. These tools are fabricated to disseminate non-formal science education to the people and behind this there is huge research and development team working to make the exposition as scientifically accurate and aesthetically designed as possible.
The Centre has over the years designed and developed following Science Centre
2. Design and Development of ThematicCentres/ Galleries
The Centre receives request from various organisation to convert their achievements and thus its benefits to the society in a museum. Hence Museum for various organisations have been completed. Few are named as follows and many more such projects are under development/consideration
3. Planetariums
A dome, several star projectors, control console, sound system and sky watching facility comprise the complete set of a Planetarium. The sharp image of stars, planets etc. are projected on the inner hemispherical surface. Control console and sound system are the associated section of the whole activity. The seating arrangement installed for audience below the hemispherical dome. It may be unidirectional or concentric. Finally the sky watching facility and astronomy gallery make people to experience and learn about astronomical objects and events.
4. Interpretation centre
Interpretation Centre is almost one fourth of a regional science centre that comprises a single focus. This centre is community oriented. Suppose the Interpretation Centre is to be installed in an area where, the people are fishermen. So the theme of the centre is based on fisheries. The different types of alerts have to be provided like weather alert, oceanic threats, fishing net maintenance, scientific preservation of fishes, seasonal spawn care etc. with proper exhibits and demonstrations. Forty per cent of the total area would be kept free for exhibition space and rest sixty per cent area encompasses the infrastructural facilities and other associated support.
The Centre has developed such a facility for JantarMantar, Varanasi, Utter Pradesh
5. 3D Theatre
A 3D/three-dimensional film is a motion picture that enhances the illusion of depth perception. 3D films have existed in some form since the 1950s, but had been largely relegated to a niche in the motion picture industry because of the costly hardware and processes required to produce and display a 3D film. The lack of a standardized format for all segments of the entertainment business also slowed down proliferation of 3D video or cinema. 3D films became more and more successful throughout the 2000s, culminating in the unprecedented success of 3D presentations of Avatar in 2009-2010.
6. Science Park/ Evolution theme park
A science park offers children scope for exposure to the basic principles of science through fun. A set of robust all weather exhibits demonstrating basic scientific principles and concept is the main feature of a science park. The exhibits can cover subjects like motion, energy, sound, light, weather, mechanics, ecology, environment, solar energy and natural history. The hands on experience which the children get in this science playgrounds keeps a lasting impression on their tender minds and inculcates a spirit of inquiry in them. A science park is in effect a low cost outdoor science centre and can effectively assume the role of imparting non-formal science education to the community in general.
The Centre developed a Science Park at Kaithal , Haryana and similar projects in other cities have been completed
7. Exhibits
An exhibit is an array of cues (visual, auditory etc.) purposely brought together within defined boundaries for a desired effect. Exhibits are very important units of science centres because:
We are specialized in making exhibits based on the story of themes. Comprehensiveness, self-learning and interactivity of the exhibits makes people understand and follow the flow of storyline. A renowned and efficient Research & Development team works behind to fabricate relevant exhibits.
More than 500 exhibits have been developed at the Centre ‘s Exhibit Development Laboratory (EDL) and handed over to different organisations/institutions
