A permanent exhibition titled “Digital World” shall be inaugurated at National Science Centre, Delhi on January 9 2025. This permanent exhibition “Digital World” inaugurated by Prof Venugopal Achanta, Director, CSIR – National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi (CSIR-NPL) at 10.30am on 9th January 2025. The gallery is spread over 3000sq fts and has in all 32 interactive exhibits in seven thematic sections. The exhibition Showcases India’s Digital Journey, remarkable achievements in Information Technology (IT) and its pioneering role in science and technology are celebrated in the newly unveiled “Digital World” Gallery features seven thematic sections: ‘Introduction,’ ‘Indian Challenges,’ ‘Digital India,’ ‘Digital Health & Wellbeing,’ ‘Digital Commerce,’ ‘Digital Entertainment,’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence.’ Visitors are taken on a captivating journey, starting with the evolution of computers—from room-sized machines to devices that fit in a pocket. Highlights include exhibits such as ‘C-DAC: An Indian Success Story’, depicting India’s rise in high-performance computing after the U.S. denied access to the Cray supercomputer, and ‘C-DOT: Harbinger of Communication Revolution’, showcasing innovations like the Rural Automatic Exchange (RAX) that revolutionized India’s telecom sector & Interactive displays and immersive experiences powered by Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) include a Virtual Zoo, flight simulators, and a visual effects studio. Visitors can explore digital health innovations, smart city solutions, and even try out virtual dressing rooms.
